Day 1: Foundations and Mission Strategy
• Introduction to Satellite Design – Historical context, types of satellites, applications
• Orbital Mechanics & Mission Planning – Keplerian elements, orbital transfers, launch windows, ground tracks
Day 2: Subsystems and Structural Engineering
• Satellite Subsystems Overview – Functional architecture: payload, bus, and control
• Structural Design & Material Selection – Loads, stress analysis, lightweighting, launch survivability
Day 3: Power and Energy Management
• Satellite Power Systems – Solar panel technology, batteries, power budgeting
• Power Distribution & Redundancy – Regulation, storage, and energy flow throughout the satellite
Day 4: Propulsion and Environmental Control
• Satellite Propulsion Systems – Cold gas, monopropellant, ion, Hall effect systems
• Thermal Control Systems – Passive and active methods, heat transfer in space, thermal modeling
Day 5: Communication, Integration & Careers
• Satellite Communication Systems – RF systems, antennas, modulation, link budgets
